Joining House ManticoreHouse Manticore, either as a house member, part of Legion or Verengian Guard is a matter of relationships. Essentially, to join, you have to generally be in a position to be able to participate with the rest of its members. As you are up in Buffalo Grove, there is one Legionnaire in that area that is willing to help out in this arena. It is a matter of how much you are willing to invest into the group that will sustain you with the group. Many members that have fallen away throughout the years were generally interested in what the group could do for them, not what they could do for the group. House Manticore primarily works on the principle that each member works towards serving the group. So, that all being stated. What does it take to join? The first step is an interest and a willingness to express that interest. The second part is a willingness to place yourself in relationship with us… this may start with registering on the message board and asking questions and the like, and from there make it to any of our BBQ's an event that we may be going to and participating with us on a local Medieval Reenactment field. RetentionHouse Membership stems directly from its members. While this sounds as if it is self evident, occasionally individuals seek either personal gain for its own sake, or are apathetic to advancing the organization as a whole. Motivations (or lack thereof) such as these do not create a sense of belonging amongst members of an organization. However, it does take individual motivation to act as a member, part of a team if you will, rather than ones own self interest. This does not mean that individual ambition or goals should be secondary to the group as it is individual enthusiasm for a particular project that can generate group enthusiasm and broaden a sense of accomplishment. Therefore, it takes the individual to propose a goal and include the group to maintain interest within the organization. Furthermore, it is these generated goals and activities that will maintain membership as well as create an interest in others to join House Manticore. Suggested ActivitiesTraining Days. This is generally for House Fighting Companies and can include:
Building Days.
Other Get Togethers.
Fund raising. Obviously there are goals that will require amounts of money that no one individual will be able to cover. It can take a series of projects to raise funds for an ultimate goal. |
