Hi everyone im tommy(polynikes). Im 19 a college student and a college athlete as well . Im new to this but when i found dagorhrir website i fell in love right away. I went to illinois and found this unit(i think its a unit) and i felt like the best fit. The problem is i still feel like i have a lot of un answered questions i couldnt find answers to. So ill post them here and see if i can get help.
1. how does one become a member of the house of manticore?
2. whats the "legion" i read about in earlier posts?
3. is there a place where i can find all the rules?
4. i found that some units have older adults and some younger so i was wondering around what age group people here were?
5. is there anyone here could teach me the ropes?

Thats about all the questions i have for now. I very athletic and a very fast learner as well as the fastest person i know lol(4.5) 40. And a friend of mine was interested and he would be great too he is seriously the strongest kid i know he couldve gone d1 in football but grew tired of the game. So i hope to hear and meet some of you. Thank you

First question is where are you located? As it you have stated, you are going to school, so which one We have members generally around ISU and SIU so that would generally determine as to who can help you.

To join is generally a process of us getting to know you and you getting to know us. To join the Legion requires this as well as learning what it is by being part of the Legion... basically a period of indoctrination so as you understand what the unit is about so as to learn how to work as a team member and respect the Goals and Traditions of the Unit.

The membership of House Manticore is pretty diverse, especially in age. In an active capacity the oldest is nearly 37 with the youngest being around 20.

As far as getting to learn the ropes, part of our process for the Legion is to have a sponsor for any petitioner that joins the Legion who's purpose is certainly 'showing the ropes.'

Thanks for the answering the questions you could. I live in addison which is in dupage county just south of schaumburg. I actually did attent siu last semester and i was on the rugby team but i transferred home this semester so i go to cod. The Carpenterville place is closest.
I saw on the page that there is an event this saturday. Will any of you be there? I wanted to attend just to watch and check it out but if you some of you will be there i will come up and introduce myself in person. Thank you again

I doubt that any of our membership will be attending that particular event. However, if you are willing to make it down to the ISU area (Blm/Nrm) many will be attending the Wolf Pack Opener.

Darstab will have to get hold of you as far as up there to see what is going on as he is generally the only one up that way anymore. He is not all that particularly active as far as fighting goes... but, I could be wrong on that account. *shrug* Either way, he should be able to point you in the correct direction to start fighting in either a Dagorhir or Belegarth group (Belegarth being a splinter faction from Dag... has rules that are generally the same as Dag and there are a lot of people that still go back from one group to the other on a regular basis. Long story on this one, and not really worth repeating other that it was essentially a power struggle with the people at the top ... and did not generally affect the fighting what-so-ever)

as for the event this saturday in romeoville i am planning on attending but i will probably be the only one from house manticore there, as meph stated, many of us will be attending the wolf pack opener on the 13th though here in B/N

I'm toying with the idea of going to Muxlovian Mayhem since I really need to be away from my normal location that day, but I'm not sure I can escape early enough to get there in time :/

I personally(like i have any say to my name) say you should go so i can have more people to meet even if you show up late. Ill be bringing a few friends too.

I'll have to bounce it off of Osa. She might not appreciate me getting up at 6am on a weekend to get to the site in a timely fashion...
