Sadly, there is no more raider class so no uber cheese. The Grim Yuletide and WG D Midreign WM/DM

December 13th at Western Gate Duchy (Carondolet Park, St.Louis)

Ditching and sign-ups start at 10am for WM/DM, Tourneys start at 12 Noon.
Grim Yuletide at 2pm.

Feast $5.00 all you can eat until the food runs out, everyone goes once
before seconds are doled out. Hot drinks all day with feast. Hot Beef Stew
(Vegans, please contact me) w/Crusty Homemade Bread and Butter with Cookies for
dessert, nothing boxed, everything made from fresh ingredients by folks who
know how to cook. Feast o'Crat is Lady Fey Anya with the staff of HOTHS.

It's a cold winter event, so be sure to wear layers of clothing, extra
socks, etc. It is also a very showy event, so garb up for your characters
and if you don't play a character, wear red or green holiday garb. If you
want to come in the night before, there are sure to be people here who would be
very willing to put you up for the night, just let us know.

Here are the rules to the Grim Yuletide

THE NUTCRACKER SUITE - Set-up: The Nutcracker has a Lair that is null to
any magic but his and his magic extends to his Consort, The Sugar Plum Fairy,
his General, The Rat King and his four Tin Soldiers. All other
Enchantments do not work while inside but start working again once you leave the lair.
All non-corporeals will become corporeal while in the lair. The back of the
lair is nirvana for all evil minions.

OBJECT: The only way to KILL The Nutcracker is by looting the Rat King's
Crown and the Sugar Plum Fairy's Wand from their (shattered out) bodies and
returning them to Santa. Once that goal is achieved, Santa will loudly declare
that the Nutcracker is Mortal... before that, the Nutcracker has serial
immortality. You can kill him as much as you like but after a short death
count, he's going to be coming at you again. Once he is deemed Mortal by
Santa, he is vulnerable to being shattered out at the next death.

The Tricky Bit: The Nutcracker can make minions. Eventually, he will turn
everyone on the field into minions unless he is stopped. Can you kill him
before he turns all your friends into your enemies? NOTE: All minions remain
minions until the final death of the Nutcracker and any two minions can bring
a dead body to The Nutcracker's lair to be changed into minions. Once a
body is brought to the lair, the Nutcracker can just touch and minionize the
dead. Once the death is counted, the new minion arises, don's an armband and
takes their place at the Nutcrackers whim. (shattered people can not be
minionized because they will not be coming back alive, those folks, leave the
field after your shattered death count and go get some hot chocolate)

Note: it takes two minions using both hands, holding NO weapons, to drag a
person to the lair, while stating 'dragging' repeatedly whilst doing it.
Teams, note, you can drag your dead team members to 'safety' at Nirvana, too,
the same way, if possible, to keep them out of the grip of the Nutcracker.
Don't let your team mates body be carted off! Think what will happen if a
neutral healer with unlimited reezes is minionized. Tiny Tim or Mrs Claus
could suddenly become very useful minions.

TEAMS: There are Five "Good" Teams and One "Evil" Team. As is tradition,
our Prince Rammork is Santa and our WG Duke Xander is the Nutcracker. The
"Good" Teams may not form alliances but there are two Neutral Healers who are
available to all the Good Teams and both have unlimited Reezes, Heals and
Mends.

Each team has a captain and each character has been assigned to a team and
once you pick a character, you should also read up on the attributes of the
other characters on your team and figure out how to use them to your best
advantage. Character teams will be rounded out by pick line of non-character
players so that each team has relatively the same number of players based on
ratios. The Tough Trait does not count as usual and ghosts and spectres
will become corporeal in the lair.

DEATH & SPELLS: Death, until you are shattered, is counted in the Lair for
minions and at the Nirvana Tree for non-minions until you are shattered and
then, you count where you fall. Death is a 75 count, (it's cold out there).
Spells are half counts. The Dead are always considered willing in terms of
magic and dragging. This game does allow relics but they are permenantly
lootable so don't bring any that you aren't willing to lose. A note about
looting and shattering out: If you are shattered, you must announce this loudly to
allow looting and count your full final death count where you fell before
retreating from the field. You can only loot a shattered person, so ask a
dead person if they are shattered before violating them. (oh, how many of you
are sitting there chuckling, right now?) NOTE: a dead person counting AT
nirvana may not be dragged to the lair, they are 'safe'.

Team Set ups Start at 1:30 pm. Game starts at 2pm. Ask questions now
before the game.. *smile* Then come to WG Duchy on December 13 and see how well
you do standing up to the Nutcracker Suite. Sounds easy, doesn't it?
